Monterey Car Week / Legends of the Autobahn 2026

Agreed the weather was a bit of a bummer this year, but we've had good (relatively speaking) weather for the show for the prior 4 years straight, at least, so overall we're lucky. This is Monterey we're talking about after all!

RE: BMW's presence, it did seem like an afterthought. If memory serves, last year there was more of a presence, and centered around the release of the M2 CS. One wonders why corporate could not have had something focused around the Handschalter... Apart from simply 1 example in their small lineup.

Cool to see the event as a whole took over the full west portion of the course. Audi and MBZ had a lot more room, hopefully all 3 marques can increase their car count next year.

This right here is why I quit taking my car to cars and coffee and any kind of "show"... EDIT: If that's a real GT and was my car, I'd lose it.



But to OP thanks for posting pics, I missed the show by 3 weeks or so and was tempted to fly back; looks like the weather didn't' turn out so good.

Lol I see both sides of it. Personally, I don't want a bunch of strange people hovering over my car. But then I really appreciated the car shows where I have gotten that close to truly priceless machines like a Maserati Birdcage or 250 TR.

My friend paid for a ticket to the Quail car show. Absolutely absurd amount of hypercars and rare stuff.
And yet.. these BMW's tickle my fancy even more! Haha. Nice pics. I think it looks kinda cool with the water droplets - shows who has a good wax job.

Back to the Euros. Very nice E34 M5. The owner kindly noted he hoped "his dirty piece of **** wouldn't roll away." Not sure if handbrake problems were a part of it past, but I kindly reminded him there are worse "pieces" out there...

great shots! awesome event, made me want to enter my car someday just for fun. everyone was constantly wiping down their cars and some folks even brought a complete car cover while the mist was accumulating for hours
