    Best Halos?

What are the "best" or most popular halos people are running? I am looking at the Orion V4's and I like the fact that they don't require any glue.
Want to get the LED halo look found on newer vehicles but do NOT want to slap some cheeseball setup on the car if possible. Any opinions would be quite welcome, thanks.

Not sure which ones have it available but I would be sure to get one that dims with your headlights on.

      Euro DRLs!

Nah but for real, Orion V4s are pretty popular. I've also heard good things about the angel eye guy.

If you go the angle eye route, consider having your DRL's eliminated (turned off ) for a finished look.

How does one turn off the DRL's? is this hardware, coding or both?

I have the Orion v4's with the Night Controller which I recommend as they are very bright without it. Definitely quality AE's.

You can code them out using NCS expert.

Might pick those up and just see what's what.
And yea....I might just be a BIT new thread happy lately. Just so many old hands around I like asking questions before the forum gets populated with more people with less experience. I promise I will cut it out!!!

The stock xenons already have a halo effect around the outer xenon projector housing. In my opinion, angel eyes look tacky as hell on the E36 and E46, not to mention that they will rub through the chrome reflective coating on the xenon lenses and allow light to escape through the damaged area. Those housings are not available separately through BMW.

For a better look, I'd go Euro DRLs, aka city lights (DIY here http://www.bimmerbrothers.com/e46-m3...ight-retrofit/) -

I've had my Orion V4's installed now for 5 years with NO issues. I personally like them and still get a lot of compliments.

Lol your car will be fine. Just be careful when installing and nothing should get damaged.

I personally grew tired of the angel eye look and removed mine a few months ago. Now running euro DRLs. But if you like the look then you'll surely be happy with what you bought.

                              Ohh..hehe c'mon that's a bit of a reach. But ok, perhaps.
If so, that doesn't work when the headlamps are off during daytime. Which is one of the major reasons BMW's "corona lights" aka "halos" are used, during daytime instead of "daytime running lights".

Ok, well as you said it's your opinion. Not sure I follow the reasoning it would look tacky on the E46 when BMW came out with them on the E39 in 2001(early in E46 run) and have had them in every generation since. But ok, maybe a purist would not like them. And agreed there are certainly a lot of cheesy looking versions on the market that should not be sold much less be installed by anyone with taste.
How are they going to rub through the xenon lenses? The xenons use an ellipsoid glass eye it shines through, unlike a parabolic reflector lens like the halogens. I've had them for some 15 years and never had them rub.
