Great Drive!

Went for an early morning drive today. No errors, no lights, no sounds (except for intake and exhaust), no traffic. Nothing to complain about. Just smiles. Car ran great. Turned off DSC, put it in S6. Turned on Sport. Engine and SMG perfect. Didn't yearn for more power. Didn't need more stopping. Happy with the car.

Just sharing to show the rest of the world that sees these forums filled with repairs and problems that the E46 M3 can be great.

These are great cars, just as they left the factory. You could change it, but there's no real need to. Stereo was the only thing really lacking to me.

I think the HK system is fantastic. Especially given the age. Just wish the bass hit a little harder.

That's what it's all about! I shouldn't talk as much as my car is up on jack stands, but we gotta remember to drive these things for fun too not just testing mods or running an errand or something.

Drove my vert last night in the just before dusk fading sunlight and enjoyed the heck out of it. On twisty back roads feeling the air I was reminded of my childhood on my Hutch Windstyler LoL.

I have 158k miles.
I commute in mine when the temperatures are above 50F ~35 miles a day. ~ 75 mile spirited drives/cruises a couple times a month, and at least 1 track day a year. Everytime I plug in my laptop, INPA has no stored codes. feelsgoodman.jpg

I do a car rally in mine every year (cancelled this year due to you-already-know-why). While I do stay on top of maintenance, the car has performed flawlessly for 7 years of 2-3k mile trips over the course of 5 days. It's where 25% of the miles on my car have come from. The only failure is a sunroof that decided to open and close whenever it felt the need (rain or not) so I pulled fuse #46. Other than that, rock solid awesome.

Yes! Feels so good to be able to jump into the car whenever, go for a spirited drive, and come back with absolutely no issues or worries. Especially after about two months of downtime while tackling maintenance items (front main seal, FCABs, tires, clutch) and doing a couple mods (CSL intake, SSK).

Mine is a convertible, and top down at highway speeds it was abysmal. But it didn't stay long enough for me to get too frustrated. First up was a BSW Stage One kit with sub, followed closely by a new head unit and Hertz cabin amp. It's fantastic now.
