Well, I'm still waiting for my Streamline airbox. Antony reckons they found an "issue" with the box which requires rectification. I don't have any reason not to believe him, however what shits me to tears is you order a product, the business advises in writing it should take "approximately 5 weeks", and almost 2 months later it still isn't ready.
I mean I understand there are always going to be manufacturing delays and other factors which may be beyond the control of the business in question, but why not just be honest and up front and say it's a 2 or 3 or 4 month wait for the product?

Told you lol
I posted this on Instagram and I guess I grabbed his attention once again. He msg me saying for sure it will be done this weekend. (That’s what he’s been saying for a few months now)

He seems like an honest bloke. Just seems to me as though he is taking on too much work (there is clearly a lot of demand for his and other airboxes).
I mean, if I don't receive my airbox for another couple months, it's not an issue tbh. Still, would be nice to have in the meantime and let my friends ooo and aahhh over it LOL
I have evolve one and pretty happy about it.
Someone said Karbonius is better than OEM? can someone chime in on this?
It's not, Karbonius (and Streamline ) like to claim this even though they have not made any significant improvements to the original design. In fact, there are one or two things that they should correct to get it exactly like OE. The two things I noticed with a Karbonius Airbox produced in 2015 were that the oil return line hose to the oil pan did not create a seal with the o-ring due to the fact that the port was too short for the fitting and the ICV port was not chamfered like it is on the OE box to reduce the whistling noise at low RPM. And all the details about the trumpet design and internals being smoother have not been proven to make any measurable difference. It honestly sounds like a bunch of marketing and a way to claim they differentiated their product from the original. That being said, the Karbonius is still high quality and great value for what it is. The original airboxes made by Die Wejthe have been around for 13 years and all the ones I have seen have held up very well.
And what the changes are VS Karbs regular box? Obviously the ducting to brake duct portion. Looks like a remanded Evolve box.?

It's been available for a while. Primarily, it is used on E36 S54 swaps since the factory CSL snorkel does not clear the E36 strut tower. And it is an option for those E46 owners who do not want to run a CSL style dual inlet snorkel piece. I prefer the stock CSL look, but this all-in-one unfiltered section is lighter than the stock with CSL flap control unit.
Come to think of it, the design of the original E46 CSL Airbox Race version that the Evolve airbox is based on was designed for a racecar that did not need to idle in traffic or meet a sound dB restriction, hence no flap, and the entire unfiltered section is lighter in carbon to save weight versus having the large, plastic CSL control unit/snorkel.
