I don't trust them for a special interest car. They cheap out and (try to) force non-OE parts more than any company known. I've been through it with my daily driver and my dad has worked in the repair trade his entire life so I have some perspective.

I use Hagerty for my e46.

I may be looking into Hagerty since two of you have it and haven't had anything negative. Any claims filed with them? USAA wasn't bad up until that point for me. I didn't want them totalling my car at 40-50% damage value. Copart is riddled with USAA auctions.

Not sure what to say since it's your only car. Keep trying Hagerty. Sometimes things change - when I first called a few years ago they turned me down. Then it was only one car could be covered. Now Hagerty has both of my cars at very nice valuations. But I don't pile on the miles and wife has a X5 daily.

Thanks for that tip. I just save $400 a year.

Does the daily driver have to be a newer car? I have an old beater (older than any E46M) and wonder if that would qualify

I've been looking into Chubbs. Any feedback from their stated-value policies?

I believe it has to be newer than the cars you are insuring.

So I had three "Sunday" cars that I had (two with classic plates) and the E46 M3 that I put on a Hagerty policy. Hagerty does allow for "Occasional driving to work", whatever that means as long as it doesn't go over the annual allotted miles. And you do have to list a daily driver, i didn't see where it had to be newer.

Ok that's good. I only ask because I have a '99 Explorer that I rack up miles on and I'd like to get a stated value policy for an M3. I'd hate to get rear-ended and insurance only offers me $10k after I just took out a loan on a $25k to $30k classic car 😓

Same here. I've heard so many great things about Navy Fed as well. I've been with USAA for the better part of the past 15 years since I graduated college and went to ocs - they've been nothing short of amazing with all services I've used. I am insured with them on my Porsche (also financed), but knock on wood I've never filed a claim so what do I really know. The true mettle of an insurance co is how they treat you post accident and I haven't experienced that.

My M3 which was purchased brand new and has 30K over the past 17 years put into it, is insured with Hagerty.

Yea that's where the service really matters. The one thing I don't like about USAA is that they don't provide Roadside Assistance for motorcycles.

Any personal experience with Grundy? I would like go Hagerty but the premium is double Grundy. Also Grundy has no mileage restriction but Hagerty does. Both seem very similar and allow for “pleasuring driving”

It seems like the majority of reviews on Yelp are bad for Hagerty. Has anyone actually had to file a claim with them? I'm in the market for a more specialized insurance agency that I could workout a fair value for my m3 as well, but don't think Ill be going with them.

The M is covered by Hagerty @ a stated value of $30k. The premium was virtually the same as what I was paying under my multi car policy. Have a Macan and a Sienna as my daily.

Hagerty and Grundy were virtually the same (given my circumstances) as the M only logs about 2k per year.
