I believe it’s compatible you just need to cut your oem boot or buy a new one.

Yes it will work but as others stated it will need the original "goose neck" knob cut so you can use that boot. It will also not be lighted like stock.

Many of us buy the F10 M5 weighted knob/boot and swap the boot frame so that it's still lighted and has a new boot attached to it.

is the F10 M5 knob a direct fit? After looking it up there seems to be some modification needed

It needs to have the plastic square boot frame moved to the M5 boot frame since the shifter surrounds have a slightly different shape between models.

I picked up the F10 a couple years back. I just repurposed the surround from the E46 Shifter. Was relatively easy. 3/10 on difficulty meter.

Oh cool. Is there any difference between a regular ZHP shift knob and the F10 shift knob + boot, other than the illumination of the shift knob? Thanks!

No, I don't remember it being different. I had the "zhp" knob before and switch to the F10 one. They were both weighted, stubby, and seams in the front. The zhp knob's lower collar ring might have had more luster to the silver. While the F10 may have been more satin, but that could have just been the wear of one new and one used.

The ZHP knob is slightly smaller in circumference as compared to the F10 knob.

Well this isn't the best comparison photo I took years ago. For one the leather boot is covering a lot of the bottom collar making it look different. Next the zhp knob on the right is angled to the left (can see by stitching) so that makes it look not as elongated.
