How to remove throttle accelerator plate?

I needed to remove my accelerator pedal to do some work underneath the carpet. Despite my efforts, I broke the locating tab. How do you remove the plate, specifically, how do you remove the lower portion in order to place the plate?

You need two flat blade screwdrivers. Push the two clips back to release the bracket and pull up and out.

You gotta be careful with the side tab that the actual pedal clips into (the clip on the right side, right below the nut in the picture above). If you push too hard you'll break it, ask me how I know.

I already made that mistake haha, hence the the question on how to remove it and replace it.
