Does your car beep when locked?

Recently bought an '03 stripper which I've had to fix a few things on. Trying to figure out if the siren / beeper is broken or just isn't there to begin with. Does anyone know if the siren which beeps when the car is locked / unlocked was optional or part of a package? (or could have been coded out?) I do see on my trunk that it says it is pre-wired for the security system.

Mine does...because I retrofitted the alarm and coding. Trunk think just means it's prewired.

IIRC, the audible locking mechanism is a codeable option... I’m sure others here will chime in with a link to the codes. If they don’t by the time I get to a computer, I’ll post them here. Mine does not beep.

        Cheers,

          Its a Key Option.

There is a motion sensor in the truck above the battery and a proximity sensor under the center cover on the headliner. If those aren’t there you don’t have an alarm.

PASOFT 1.4 for the coding options.

It's codeable. You can turn on/off the beep and the light flash as you want for arming and disarming.

Mine is coded, but it is inconsistent, both when locking and unlocking. In 5+ years I still haven't figured out a set of circumstances that cause either outcome.
