Hamman Cams?

This listing caught my eye. Mostly because I like the thought of stealing the 4.10 rear diff (owner isn’t interested in selling or swapping 🙁).

Any idea what Hamman cams are? My internet searches all came up empty.

Probably meant Hamann, but as far as I know they never made cams for our cars. https://www.hamann-motorsport.com/

That’s sort of what I thought. I saw they did some tuning and stuff but the cams part was where I lost him as I found no evidence they existed.

Being a tuning house, I'd imagine Hamann would order cams from a manufacturer such as Schrick, just as they did with their mufflers (SS). DINAN also used to spec Schricks as part of their packages.

I onced helped a local guy retime his S54. I had assumed that his car was not pulling as well as it used to or something and that was why he wanted to retime it. Turns out he had raised the limiter to 9k and would consistently hit that. On one occasion, he heard a pop and his engine started sounding "like a subie". Unsurprisingly, his engine still ran terrible after retiming it.

9k RPM is easily achievable.

Does it make sense, no not really. But it's doable with off the shelf parts.

You'd need a built head with high lift cams and a tune.

It makes perfect sense. 9k engines sound better
