The old forum was mostly terrible outside nostalgia. Why? Because most members didn't have the slightest clue what they were talking about, myself included, although I came near its demise. So much absolute crap information. Thirty page threads on nothing. Or illuminated door sills.

I remember that one dude (braymond or whatever the f$$$ his name was) who got really upset about leatherique and our leather seats. Like a thirty page thread on why it was bad. I think he ran the other competing forum (mforum) when the old forum went under. Although in fairness, he did seem to know what he was doing, but he like many other early members were absolute assholes.

This forum, IMO, is much better. The members have matured along with the platform and whatever information was lost has mostly been restored. Also, the vast amounts of useless information aren't around to pollute the search results.

I can totally understand wanting some old build threads back.

I'm probably going to import all old m3forum posts as "m3f_username" - and I can rename users/relink accounts on a per-user basis when asked. I'm nearing the end of my data validation and deduplication; I've recovered around a million posts. I'll probably have a first-round single-forum section import for the MODs here to review later tonight.
