I remember that one dude (braymond or whatever the f$$$ his name was) who got really upset about leatherique and our leather seats. Like a thirty page thread on why it was bad. I think he ran the other competing forum (mforum) when the old forum went under. Although in fairness, he did seem to know what he was doing, but he like many other early members were absolute assholes.

This forum, IMO, is much better. The members have matured along with the platform and whatever information was lost has mostly been restored. Also, the vast amounts of useless information aren't around to pollute the search results.

I can totally understand wanting some old build threads back.
Bring it all back. Let's see who gets cancelled!!! 🤣 I visited E46fanatics recently...holy shit I was a moron! 🤣

If the old M3Forum comes back this is proof that you can never delete anything once it is on the internet.

And before you say he would talk that way in real life, you and I both know that greatly depends on who it is standing in front of them.

          Class keyboard hard ass.

I actually agree with your point... generally. But let's be honest, if we all behaved like we do in real life, this place also wouldn't exist. Most of us wouldn't engage. I bet most people aren't annoying enough to offer up their opinions to complete strangers. So this place has to get some mixture of who you are, and that by default wouldn't be the same in real life. If someone is belittling, attacks people personally, or anything along those lines yeah they're being an asshole. But I don't think being blunt is that. At least not for me.

Haha now I really hope that Leatherique thread comes back. I do remember it, but I am super curious about Brett's posts.

He probably wasn’t offensive in the traditional sense, just over the top. OCD might he the way to say it. For whatever reason that thread, Jared, and few others always stuck in my mind like woah, relax it will be alright. The real gold mine is Jared’s adventures. Honestly, I hope he’s alright now days. He was probably very young.

Well I can agree with you on OCD haha. While Jared sounds familiar, he doesn’t ring a bell. Got an example? I had my e36 during the m3f days so I only occasionally browsed the e46 forum. I have also had kids since then, and I swear they’ve given me brain damage.

I won't spoil it. Jared brought some good times. Just a young guy determined to tear everything up as fast as possible.

I don't know yet...I've only imported the E36 stuff, which is still ongoing. Does anybody remember where his thread was? Was it in the mail e46 section or in the build journals?

Anyone who wants their old posts linked to their current nam3forum account can PM me personally. I wrote a little script to fix posts after the fact, and I can do it on a one-by-one basis.
A monumental task in it's own right. It's amazing you were able to save all of that info. Well I PM'd for approval of linking my handle to old posts. I'm proud of my heritage on M3Forum and in the community in general; it's why I even have it listed in my signature. I was almost a 20 year member there before it went down. I signed up only a couple of weeks after my M3 was delivered at Northwest BMW up in Baltimore.
