Yer agreed if you only want the back portion the HARD Motorsport option is way better. I am interested in tidying it all up so want bottom panel as well and I like that the Street Faction Engineering kit is made from actual 3D scans so its going to be as close to what an OEM option / piece might have been vs building off a template but yer the price point is INSANE, I have queried where the price comes from... I mean when its Steel the back is $275USD vs HARD Motorsport $210... that's a little more in touch with reality... I do not see Aluminium adding $125USD

Rear seat cushion is about 13.5lbs.
Driver side seat back is about 22.5lbs.
Pass side seat back is about 12lbs.

I just installed CF sunroof panel and removed/weighed a lot of random pieces.

If of interest, all in lbs (this is prob +/- 1 lb because my scale is not super accurate and to get all the weights I had to weigh myself with/without holding the pieces):

-Rear sub with sub amp assembly 7.5
-Telematics tme unit and entire metal frame driverside in trunk 7.5
      -Rear seat cushion 13.5
-Both rear headrests (together not each) 2
-Both rear deck speakers (together not each) 4.5
-Both rear seat backs 34.5 (larger driver side 22.5, smaller pass side 12)
-Fan clutch and plastic blades 4
-Cabin air filter housing with filter 6.5
      -Fog lights (together) 2
-Trunk lid panel and tool kit 4
-Roof rack (with bike bar) 15
-2x trunk inside lights - negligible
-Cabin air filter vertical block plate on firewall 4lbs
      -Roof liner 3.5lbs
-Prep for roof liner to come out - lights, a/c pillars, sun visors, rubber seam for sunroof glass, oh shit handles, clothes hooks, 8lbs
      -Sunroof glass 14
      -Sunroof cassette 16.5

All the above =50lbs so that checks out to what I had as i remember I didn't remove or weigh the seatbelts, pass through latches or the rubber mat under the seat cushion so in my head I was like 50lbs reduction minimum + some extra when I nix the other bits and I left the weight of the seatbelts and rubber mat as margin of error for any weight I might add back

So getting the Aluminium RSD from Street Faction is a ~26.5lbs reduction minimum potentially up to 30lbs which isn't bad.

I have to remove my rear seat belts and re-register as a 2-seater when I eventually get Cobra Nogaros, due to local regulations so a RSD is a no brainer for me... the reason to go with HARD Motorsport or Street Faction is due to motorsport regs as I'm sure it will need to be considered a firewall with my Radium Auto FST install... so meeting regs and dropping ~30lbs is pretty appealing... but the $500USD for Aluminium kit doesn't ass up

Yeah price is steep. In my case I also need something sturdy (just for the seat back replacement) to haul the baby in the baby seat around. So I might be out for this one and I don't have plans for a half cage yet (per baby comment).

That seems, intuitively, so wrong! It feels like it weighs 3-4 lbs.

You are just too buff so it feels light .

                  Def surprising.

Realoem lists the foam cushion at ~4.4kg and upholstery at ~1kg (search individual part number).

Agreed. I think its size plays a factor in that perception.

                      I suppose it must.

On the flip side, the front seats (also large) feel like they weight 120 lbs (actually ~58), when in reality they're apparently only ~4x the weight of the back seat lower cushion.

Lol yea wtf. I’ve removed the rear seats many times and I can toss them around like nothing. Then almost kill myself with a stock muffler lol. Guess the density of the muffler made it seem that much heavier.

But hey, this is good news I guess. More weight savings to be had!

I'm going to stick it on a scale next time I have it out for something else.

Also confirming the rear seat is heavier than it looks. From my recent tear down:

I've got an unused Hard Motorsport rear seat delete I decided not to use that I need to sell if someone wants to save some money haha.

Lol, yeah that rear seat bottom feels like it weighs nothing. Conversely, the rear seat backs feel like they weigh a ton... anyone got a number on that?
