In the end my tech asked me to bring him my spare CSL converted DME and after installing that the issue is gone. Probably something wrong with the hardware on my HP DME. Will have to send it in to be checked.

Hopefully once you have adjusted your tune this issue will go away for you. I did try adjusting the tune and it didnt work.
It's not a common thing but DMEs definitely do bad. One pin on one microchip could have just a little bit of corrosion. I'd love to see an update on what is found when you get it checked out.

I had a DME go bad on the M3 wagon. Symptoms were poor drivability and random codes. Not common, but it does happen.

Possibly related: I ignored a DME cooling fan failure for a couple of months before it failed. So.. likely user error.

I had something similar (shuddering at high load/throttle, no CELs, CSL airbox and DME) and found it was due to a leaking vacuum reference line for the fuel pressure regulator. It's a small rubber hose piece at the end of the air pipe on top of the engine toward the firewall.

          the part: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3...uine-bmw-part/

I changed it out and the shuddering went away.

I replaced that too and it didn’t fix the issue. In the end the original dme converted to HP did the trick.

Alright so I am going to replace:

              1) Vacuum Hose
              2) Check for shadow codes (none have been thrown in the part but I might as well)
              3) See if I can get it tuned out
              4) Buy another DME and get it converted again.

Let me know if y’all run across a fix. It is bugging me.
