I posted a while back about shuddering when under full or close to full throttle in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th. This is intense shuddering, almost like multiple misfires or mistiming(?). I got some very helpful advice earlier about replacing the CV joint in the driveshaft, center support bearing, and driveshaft centering sleeve.
I took the car to the shop, and they checked these components and determined that it was not a drivetrain issue, but an engine running condition issue. I am going to try to supply as many facts as I can. I would note that although I did supply and inquire about the parts listed above, they were not replaced. The center support bearing and driveshaft centering sleeve have less than 250 miles on them, the CV is unknown, but likely original. The shop had the car for two weeks and could not figure out what was going on, so I am at a loss. Any help or guidance would be hugely appreciated.
Condition:
2006 E46 M3
Lessened Slightly When Engine is Warm
Hard Shuddering Under Heavy/Full Throttle in Predominently 4th, 5th, and 6th
Car Fails to Accelerate Under Shuddering Condition
When Throttle is lessened, shuddering stops and vehicle resumes proper acceleration
Related Vehicle Modifications:
Replaced Clutch and Attendant Parts Less than 250 Miles Ago
All Coils and Plugs Replaced
Flex Disc is New
Driveshaft Center Sleeve is New
Center Support Bearing Is New
Karbonius Airbox and "CSL" Conversion
Kassel "CSL Conversion" for 6MT
IAT Wired from MAF Delete into "Stock" Karbonius Location
TTFS Rail with MAP Sensor Wired to ECU
Beisan Full "Bulletproofing" Performed
Valve Adjustment Less than 2k Miles Ago
Rod Bearings Replaced
Radium Catch Can Installed
No hard codes are thrown, except the coolant temp sensor which failed during their testing. It was replaced.
I am happy to supply more information as needed. This is truly the first thing with this car that I just can't figure out. Also my heated mirrors are on all the time and extremely hot but that is another day...
Thanks Guys! 8.5.1
