This is the new Rogue Engineering trunk which is manufactured by the same guys that created the carbon wide body e46 and e36 for PTG. From 1995 to 2006, PTG, a company based in West Virginia, was responsible for the development and racing for BMW North America. They were given some parameters but essentially were left to decipher many specifics on their own. One such detail was the creation of race-grade bodywork for the racecars. Everything from molding and production of these parts were left to their own devices.

They moved to the greater Atlanta area a while ago and I was able to pick up the trunk at their shop.

I picked it up locally from the manufacturer…they happen to be local to me in the greater Atlanta area.

The trunk has excellent fitment and it’s ridiculously lightweight at under 7lbs. I purchased the race version so I needed to cut a few holes. The only negative thing I could say is they didn’t use a lot of resin so it had some pinholes during paint prep which took extra time to resolve.

Yeah my rear CSL seats are like brand new lol but still would love the isofix option for the child seat one day.

I bought a ZCP 6 speed steering wheel brand new with blank trims. Matching my very low options ZCP. Need to install it now.

Engine: sounded normal, rewatching the footage maybe a bit slow through the revs like it was down on power for a second but all speculation.

The failure: a very loud pop and the engine sputtered to death

I can't attach the video to this but I do have one of the failure

Any knob fits any boot pretty much.

I think we misunderstood each other. That boot posted is Vinyl or Montana as freshprince2421 said. If that doesn't bother you, then yeah that fits fine. Those are still available new I think. If that was the case just buy the RaceGerman one for $40, same thing. I don't like the look of that compared to the Nappa, that's why I did it my way.

I also just realized you're calling it a ZHP boot, i was reading it so fast I didn't realize that. If there's anything considered a ZHP boot its probably the Alcatara boot. Which i also didn't want for either that or handbrake.

My E36 M3 has that kind of Montana leather boot, if I could switch it to a nappa leather like whats in the E46 I will. Looks a million times better.

I picked up some OEM ZHP Shadow Line Gloss black trim for my M3. Got them for surprisingly cheap. May need to get some paint work on them before installing though.
