What did you do for your M3 today?

Been doing a “stock” restoration journey with my 5th E46. This was bit of an impulse purchase from my friend but the pedigree of 2006/ Slicktop/ 6MT and AW/ IR manual seats at 94K was hard to pass up. It had a nice parts list including complete Supersprint Stepped Headers, Section II & both Sport + Race mufflers that I removed. The only thing still left on the car is the SS stepped headers (waiting uninstall) and Autosolutions 30% SSK. Added was a Rennline phone mount + bluebus Bluetooth module. This car will be used as my nostalgic daily driver - how it’s looking today with refinished OEM 18” in shadow chrome - stock new suspension - reflector.

Great pickup. Curious, what did it look like prior to the stock restoration?

This weekend I had my old 13+ year old tint removed and had a ceramic tint applied all around. 50% sides and back and 80% or whatever it is they're allowed to do on front. Should help keep interior more comfortable here in central Texas plus the fresh tint looks so much better than the worn one car had since I got it. Glad I didn't go any darker. Also took delivery of coco mats and put them in today

I can take pics of all the body if you want. It's really clean and well kept. Then you can mull it over for a couple months as I take everything off. 😁

I did that a few months ago, glad I bought mine 2 years ago, they are MUCH more expensive now.

Its interesting to me that my original coupler was very loose, and yet I didn't really experience some night and day difference in feedback.

I also replaced mine about 2 years ago, i did notice a night and day difference. I had lot of on center slop and was able to compare it to my non-m coupe so it was quite noticable.

It's a 110k mile car that I bought at 80k, daily drove and repaired small items for 2 years, but it hadn't had any of the big issues addressed. I started on the vanos and cooling system in 2014, which took me almost 2 years to complete (second kid, house addition). A couple years later I got the RB done. Then this spring I finally bit the bullet and took care of the remaining big issues. I still drove it on occasion, but it was always hesitantly because of the risk the vanos tabs would break, or I'd spin a bearing, or every hard shift would tear the RACP a little bit more. The handling was also sketchy AF. In the middle of all that I also added an evolve CF airbox running on MAP, and a supersprint exhaust (I'm a sucker for good BF deals). The car isn't "done" by any means, but it's getting closer to what I envisioned over a decade ago.

It's been a long time coming, so yeah, it's nice to have it back.
