Bought this wheel off of eBay from a seller out of Poland, the lower trim is leather wrapped as well. 380$ + 40$ shipping. Very happy with the quality and no core exchange charges or hassle! Will sell the old wheel now.

That looks very nice! These polish wheels are the way to go, I got mine back in 2016 and with proper maintenance and care, still looks like the day I put it in

Wow! That’s an awesome steering wheel. Do you have the name of the seller or eBay store name ? THANK YOU!

That looks great. Would love to know who the seller is as I want to throw my alcantara one out of the balcony lol
I've had alcantara and it really does get dirty quick no matter how careful you are. It also wears faster and then makes the interior look old and cheap IMO. I think original leather wheel is perfect for this car and is period correct for us purists but OE is very pricy. I just found a guy in Bulgaria who uses OEM type of leather (textured) as opposed to smooth leather which comes on newer BMWs. Found the guy on other BMW forums and people were pleased with the quality. I'll report back once I receive the wheel but I expect it to look exactly like the original one. Here's his e-mail - google it and you'll find a lot of links to threads on his work. mr2@abv.bg
Just to provide an update on this - the steering wheel wasn't up to my expectations. The leather was grainy but more rubbery looking and not matching OE and the stitching was off (o'clock position of where separate parts are stitched together was totally wrong). I've searched far and wide and have not been successful in finding anyone who uses OE leather, exact stitching points, etc. I also needed a new lower trim which is expensive as well so I decided to get a brand new OE wheel from BMW. No regrets - looks and feels perfect and should last a very long time with proper care.
My advice - if you want an OE looking wheel and need a new trim, get OE BMW before it's NLA. With how expensive these aftermarket recovered wheels have gotten, and the lower trim price if bought separately, it really makes no sense to go with anything other than a complete new OE wheel, IMO. You can recover some of the money by selling your existing wheel for someone to use as a core for refinishing.
I just purchased a wheel from the same guy last night. Cant wait until it shows up.
PetrolM3 Sorry to hear that. I was looking at some wheels from Bulgaria as well and I was worried I would get a bad wheel. Something seemed off about the wheel stitching in their pictures. Also the 10:00 and 2:00 stitching had such a deep gap in the middle.
