Anyone know if anything happened with that 2.5” piping muffler option from m3forum? There was supposed to be a 2.5” Street muffler with the single wall straight cut style tips. I want that

I’m currently running SS V1 front, OE section 2 and back and the muffler sounds are always trying to ruin the glorious sound from my airbox. Don’t like the rounded Street tips though.

Supersprint are located in Northern Italy so I'm sure they'd appreciate your support as much as possible.

https://www.evolveautomotive.com are also doing the offer, it's a Supersprint lead offer so wherever you are in the world your dealer should be able to offer it.

Quality is bang on, went there last year for development and did a video tour of the place -

Even with the stock muffler? Do you have cats or resonators in the ss v1 sect 1?

I have the SSv1 section 1 with cats, followed by OE section 2 and muffler. Sounds fine from the drivers seat since you mostly hear the airbox, but from behind has the usual tinny / raspy sound. It hasn’t been a huge priority since the actual driving experience is good but just wanted to see if anyone knew anything about those custom Street boxes. I think Dr Mean M3 was talking about it but I haven’t seen him here yet.

Contact Schmiedmann and they can do the custom order - https://www.schmiedmann.com/. I recall that they were ordering all the SS group buy parts.

Shmiedmann's "everyday" (technically on sale but they often are) prices are still cheaper on stepped V1s (though after shipping probs comes out about the same): https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/bmw-E...product=044001

Not even close, they were going for $1250 on black friday a couple years back.

I think that was one of a time deal never repeating again, so I'd consider 1440 is a pretty good deal. It is ~1600 at ECS if I recall.

Yeah, this seems like the best pricing I think we're likely to see going forward. If you're holding out for $1250 again, you probably won't be getting headers.

The more desirable headers are the 63mm ones correct? Which are more expensive right? Cause the 60mm ones say V1 on it which confused me

The supposed street muffler has 80mm tips, and is Supersprint.
Apparently that one is still "in development", according to Leighton before the guy dropped off the face of the earth with an order half-processed. 😒

This one is over $200 cheaper than the standard SS Sport Muffler (sale price), great find!

Yes, 63.5mm which is exactly 2.5". Best to go off of part # which is 044001 - that's the V1 Full Stepped Headers. Name may slightly depending on vendor so confirm with part #.

Supersprint has two product lines for the E46 M3: the 60mm line and the 63.5mm line. You can view the differences on their website.

For the section 3 (muffler), the part numbers are the same between the 60mm and 63.5mm lines. That's because there are only 60mm mufflers (you have 3 different choices [sport, stradale, racing]), hence the question about when might 63.5mm/2.5" might come into existence.

I'll go off on a tangent and say I don't see SS making a 2.5" muffler in the near future. Reason being, their 63.5mm section 2 necks down to 60mm at the end to match the current muffler offering. They would need (relative word) to redesign the 63.5mm section 2 to mate to a correspondingly larger muffler.
