this looks like it could be the street with the tips you want
That would be an insta-buy if it had SS rather than Schmiedmann tips, but yeah that’s basically what I want, 2.37” or not (doesn’t seem to really matter for the muffler). I’ll contact Schmiedmann and see if they’ll make a SS branded one as another poster suggested. I buy way too much from them so maybe they’ll listen

Just some clarification, headers for this car aren't 60mm. The biggest parts of the entire system get up to 60mm (in sect 2 I think), but headers, other than full stepped 2.5", are like 2.16" or 55mm.

No I don't think turbo cars use headers n/a cars would. For FBO N/A and SC for sure!

my fault. what i meant to say was in comparing the 60mm vs 63.5mm options, the wider options are more for higher HP and Turbo applications. in my case, i track it maybe 6-8 times a year, otherwise it's a weekend warrior in the twisties and with a euro setup, the 60mm seems more than enough for me. i'm not exactly in the market to replace everything....yet.

With the 2.5" full setup, you'll see gains on NA cars that are airboxed/cammed ^

The one listed above is a great price considering it is made by Supersprint for Schmeidmann as someone stated. I think Schmiedmann logo looks fine with the "S" logos and the $200 savings is a plus. Hamann and Evolve also have their exhausts made by SS. There does seem to be a slight difference between the SS Street and the Schmeidmann muffler and that is the routing of the pipes where it connects to the section 2. On the SS Street, they are straight. It appears that the chamber portion of the Schmiedmann muffler is smaller than the SS Street and larger than the SS Sport. Sound wise, it could be between the Street and Sport.

Along with the 2.5" internal diameter and slant cut tips, they should also be able to make it with the black chrome tips rather than the standard chrome tips. I think the black chrome version looks quite good on a light colored car. The custom Supersprint muffler will probably be a bit more expensive the Schmiedmann muffler.

No and they appear to be a different design from any supersprint offerings. I think they are the ones attached here. Maybe the axle back too. The bracket design on the muffler matches the one below but the housing obviously looks like the Supersprint street. Not sure if this brand has any affiliation with Supersprint, can’t find them on google. Also the Schmiedmann brand cats are 100 cell vs supersprint 200.

I believe the hjs cats ss use for e46 m3 are 100 cell as well no? Other ss products have 200 cell cats tho. I believe ss employee, member alpinerider confirmed that on m3f.

As far as the other links, that's great! It's like ss b-stock lol. Too bad not stepped.

Mufflerwise, in between sport and street sounds pretty sweet.

Asked a rep from ECS how long this sale would last and they had no idea. This is from Supersprint’s Instagram, my guess is this sale will last till 4/30.

ordered monday, arrived yesterday morning, installed by the evening. time was not wasted.

i do have a follow-up question for those that know this. i noticed that when installed, it gets VERY CLOSE to my driver side rear axle (1/4"-1/2")
not knowing how close my OEM Section 2 was or wasn't, i'm curious if any of you have experienced this?
i am able to physically move my Section 2 up and it hits the axle. i haven't driven the car yet but i assume once i get on the road, i'll start to clunk.

may not be the best thread, but for any of you that have had SS in the past.

                              Thanks.

You can fiddle with the sec 2 rubber hangers. If you slide them outward-most in their slots (in the crossbrace), they won't be quite as tall thus lowering the whole piece slightly. You can also shim the crossbrace(s) with washers to lower the piece. You might need to correspondingly lower the other crossbrace as well.

Also what muffler do you have? Sect 3 fitment will affect sect 2 fitment (unless sect 3 is stock).
