Just had my rod bearings replaced on my '05 with 64k miles. Visible wear, but I'm not an expert, so I don't know how bad they really are. FYI for those that have been thinking about getting theirs done; maybe the experts can weigh in on how they look. Car had annual oil changes throughout its life, and it does see some track time.

Mine had 107K on it, but it was definitely a bit more worn than yours; however, I was pretty confident I had another 30K on my bearings minimum. Yours looks like you could easily hit another 60k+.2002 BMW M3 Coupe Jet Black/Black (sold)

Wear looks par for the course to my untrained eyes. But now you at least have peace of mind. Here's mine at approximately 100k, but my car was meant to have the pre-03 rod bolts, but once I got in there found it had the post 03 bolts, so I suspect my car has had an engine swap at some point..

They look almost mint. Definitely premature, but hey, now you don't have to worry about it.BMW / E46M Interior & Trim Restoration.
