    Rod bearings at 64K miles

Just had my rod bearings replaced on my '05 with 64k miles. Visible wear, but I'm not an expert, so I don't know how bad they really are. FYI for those that have been thinking about getting theirs done; maybe the experts can weigh in on how they look. Car had annual oil changes throughout its life, and it does see some track time.

Mine had 107K on it, but it was definitely a bit more worn than yours; however, I was pretty confident I had another 30K on my bearings minimum. Yours looks like you could easily hit another 60k+.

Wear looks par for the course to my untrained eyes. But now you at least have peace of mind. Here's mine at approximately 100k, but my car was meant to have the pre-03 rod bolts, but once I got in there found it had the post 03 bolts, so I suspect my car has had an engine swap at some point..

They look almost mint. Definitely premature, but hey, now you don't have to worry about it.

I did mine at about 90k and could have sent them as-is for longer. One shell, I think it was from #5 iirc, was JUST beginning to wear through the babbitt. No track duty on my car, but it does get routinely exercised.

            Yours look really good.

Yeah, preemptive move on my part; feels good not to worry about it whenever I want to drive it hard. Installed WPC treated bearings for extra peace of mind.

Cant you have pulled one bearing to check and if good just put it back in with new bolts and oil pan gasket?

You're pretty much committed in terms of labor time, so it wouldn't make sense to stop there. Plus, it'll have to be done at some point, so I just hit the reset button now for peace of mind. I figure, I'm good for at least another 15+ years
