Anyone know of a good DIY for installing the epoxy/rivet vincebar?

Interesting, so you plated and foamed it. Something for me to think about as I'm going with the previous owner in that there are no cracks. There's nothing visible when I'm underneath, but pulling the subframe will tell all I suppose.

I'll look into plating while I'm under there anyway, I'd just hate to weld really thin sheet metal is all so the epoxy and rivet kit is going to have to do the trick.

Yes! Those are the ones! I think there was another thread with some more detail on the epoxy/rivet version but at least with the vincebar being much more common there's a lot more resources now.

Obviously this has already been restated multiple times but what a shame we lost M3F. Vince (VinceSE2) had two or three comprehensive threads that were enough to serve as a guide when I installed mine a few years ago

Vince has told me he’s going to post all his stuff up again here, but here clearly hasn’t gotten around to it yet. He’s easily fits the “sponsor” criteria of this forum (posts useful information or offers a unique product that improves the platform— he does both, and either alone lets him advertise here for free).

Slowly but surely the back fill of information seems to be coming back. It did depress me— I was watching a savage geese review today, and they mentioned the civic forums had lost all their back catalog a couple of years ago... and it just remains gone now. We seem to have dodged that bullet, and this place has multiple redundant backups at multiple locations.

I just installed the epoxy version of the Vince Bar. It's important to watch his four part video series - including Part 4 from July 2023 where he clarifies details on the stud and bolt kit.

From my lessons learned, the previously mentioned "DIY: VinceBar & Redish Motorsport Upper and Lower Subframe Reinforcement" thread is excellent - huge props. I have one suggestion if you use that DIY as a primary source: look at Vince's videos carefully to determine how much metal to remove for the rear bar. The pictures shown in the DIY appear to have about 1-2cm more material cut out than what Vince does per his videos. Use the OEM bolt holes as the reference. This is an important connection to make.

It's hard work, dirty, and you'll need all the tools recommended in the DIY. Add a transmission jack or similar and it makes handling the entire subframe with differential still installed doable.

FWIW when your all done with installation use a bendy magnet to recover all the metal shavings small and large you can get, I was surprised at just how much I retrieved.
