Post #1 doesn't reconcile to components referenced in post #5. Was the bottom end disassembled and all components reused?
Edit: I probably mis-read. You said "I didn't rebuild" and now I assume that means someone else did.

Engine was idling at 1200 in the video I posted. Would a faster noise mean it’s coming from the head??Originally posted by Slideways View Post

Yeah I think you're right. Definitely too fast for the bottom end.Originally posted by Slideways View Post
OP can you pinpoint where the noise is coming from with a stethoscope? Metal in the oil is definitely concerning, but I'm not sure what it could be coming from besides the bearings.

Yeah it’s pretty sparkelyOriginally posted by heinzboehmer View PostIs that metal in the oil? Something is definitely wrong. I would pull the oil pan and check on the bearings.

recently rebuilt started knocking on first start up. I did not rebuild the bottom end. Going to pull it out over the weekend and inspect.Last edited by Nicholas1996; 06-07-2021, 08:34 AM.Tags: None
