Swapped out my SS street for a SS street with Hamann tips.

So the swap you did was just to the Hamann tips? i.e., you're still rocking SS street exhaust?

I didn't swap just the tips. It's a "fully-fledged" Hamann muffler which Supersprint made by taking an SS Street and welding different tips onto it. I could only find 2 places that had info on these; the listing where I bought this one, and a listing in Malaysia. It also seems they had a version with DTM style tips.

Personally not a fan of the Black Dinan tips so decided to sand off the paint and polish them (not polished in this pic). I don't know what Dinan used to paint these tips but it took HOURS to get the paint off.


Got the exhaust in including the SS section 2 from the group buy (Thanks Epoustouflant ). I was a bit worried about the fitment since my SSV1s weren't perfect but the section 2 has perfect fitment.


Took some notes from Obioban and used the Inconel bolts from the OE headers to join the section 1 and 2.


Also threw on a CSF oil cooler.

I want to do the same to my Dinan exhaust. Did you just use a small polisher or was this a sandpaper and elbow grease job?

I started with some pretty coarse sandpaper, that paint is quite tough and took a while to get off. Finished it off with a polish after all the paint was off.

I got my Euro bumper back from paint and also had a CarboProject diffuser painted at the same time.

Few more small updates.

Swapped out the factory coolant reservoir for a Moroso tank.


Also installed the MAP sensor kit and had a CSL tune flashed. There is definitely a gain in low end power and responsiveness compared to Alpha N.



Threw on an Eventuri scoop as well.

I was not a fan of how the Moroso cap looked in the engine bay so I modeled out an "oe" style cover for it and printed it in ASA to withstand the heat.

Still haven't done the Karb roof yet but have done a couple other mods in the past few months.

Tried out the PS reservoir expansion kit that the E9x guys seem to like. Tested it out on my E34 first and it seems to work so I threw one on the M3 as well.



Reinforced the sway bar mounts for a Ground control bar. (Edit: Didn't fit with Rally Road 996 Brembo lines. Touches the brake line elbow on lock)


Painted in POR15 after*




Decided to try out @Bry5on 's SSv1 brace, not sure if it made a difference yet but will know whenever I drive the car next (Edit: Brace definitely works)

I guess if its good enough for my subframe plates, it should be fine for the sway bar mounts. Seems to works fine for a couple others as well.
