Not good ones because I didn't realize how dirty the seats were and I really didn't think it work that well. The seats looked reasonably clean, but they were obviously in need of a deep cleaning. It can't hurt and those Bissell's are pretty cheap. If you have an Ollie's nearby (its a bargain bin place) they routinely sell them for 49 to 79 dollars.

Differential shaft seal replacement (for the convertible) and new hood struts (for the coupe). Shaft seal is the corteco part that is updated. Quite a bit more sturdy it would seem to me. New one has larger spring and a different lip. 9.5 turns to remove the shaft seal nut. 9.5 turns back on.

These are the Stabilus (TRW owns now I guess) and what came factory. A third of the price as the BMW branded and work great.

Re-sealed the diff plate to the diff for the convertible using Loctite 5290. Cleaned the surfaces with a razor blade and brake cleaner prior. This one still had the original paper gasket so it was only a matter of time. before it leaked there as well.

Now that I've been running the euro exhaust setup for a while with the stock suitcase muffler I decided to swap in the rogue engineering el diablo. On U.S. headers, RE rasp pipe for section 1, and stock section 2 the el diablo droned like a MFer from 2200 to 3000 RPM.

The drone is largely gone with euro headers, euro section 1, stock section 2. Interesting.

            1. Get the MSS54 DS2 Tool https://nam3forum.com/forums/forum/m...sh-counter-etc
            2. Go to "DME Read" in the app.
            3. Back up the Tune
            4. Back up the program
            5. Make sure your battery is charged and stable. I recommend power supply mode on a charger if you have one.
            6. Download the Program "Full 211323002001J424.bin" from https://github.com/saildot4k/MSS54-X...20Full/MSS54HP
            7. Download the Tune "211323002001J424 (EU3 6MT).bin" from https://github.com/saildot4k/MSS54-X...MSS54HP%20Bins
            8. Go to "DME Programming" in the app.
            9. Under "write program" select the "Full 211323002001J424.bin" you just downloaded and click "write program".
            10. At completion I received an error message "program control: 'finalize programming' returned verify byte 0x0E. program and data references do not match'. I ignored this, perhaps because tune is not yet loaded.
            11. I exited and restarted DS2
            12. Go to "DME Programming" and under "write tune" select "211323002001J424 (EU3 6MT).bin" that you previously downloaded. Click "write tune".
            13. You're done. You can check your version under "DME Info". Big thanks to karter16 and his helpers for creating this.

This is gold. Thanks for this. Just to confirm, the program and tune bin files need to match, right? I have an SMG, for example, and while I see a bunch of (EU3 SMG) "tune" files, I don't see any matching "program" files on GitHub. Do I have that right?

My understanding is that you want to stay in the same family.

The program I used is in the "2001" family like this 211323002001J424.

So you can use any tune in that same family. Like file "211323002001JD34 (EU3 SMG).bin" if looking for a euro tune. The EUR3 is less restrictive emissions standards in europe vs EUR4.

I see, so in theory I can ignore that the 211323002001J424 and 211323002001JD34 (EU3 SMG).bin differ?

As long as you keep the tune in the same family you’re good. Obviously smg vs manual matters for the tune portion
