BMWfanz or other with 288/280 cams, what Ign do you achieved? Compared to more mild cams, on the S54 with 288/280 from a good friend i was quite surprised how low I had to go with ign (with standard knock sensitivity/recovery). Do you encountered the same? AFR is fine, but injector duty.. hm above 7500 it's just static open on E0 fuel (0% ethanol). Of course this needs some slightly bigger injectors.
For idle, zero problems. Not touched it, idle was like nailed. Only in the seat you "feel" the cams a tad.Last edited by S54B32; 06-26-2024, 01:51 PM.…under construction.

I couldn't finished my configuration due to piston to valve clearance, so on offset cams which was incorrect installed i"'ve finished my injectors totally on 98 Euro fuel. Don't know which ignition was but totally power was not which I've planned. Now will build new spec engine I think with custom pistons and return to you with more info.Originally posted by S54B32 View PostBMWfanz or other with 288/280 cams, what Ign do you achieved? If you maxed out injectors- there is a map which controls injectors cycle in crank or cams degrees- you can add some degrees for more fuelOriginally posted by S54B32 View PostBMWfanz or other with 288/280 cams, what Ign do you achieved? Hey,
does anyone have an ignition table for a cammed motor they can share? My base map has values that seem to be dialed back a lot and the engine is generating more heat than it should. I also don't want just lower ignition angles per feel, so if theres something out there I just get a feel where a dynoed engine is and use a less agressive value for safety.
I am running 296/288 cams with headwork done and 12.5 compression ratio, so it would help if its from a car with at least 288/280s.
I will also ask the guy that will be dynoing my car tomorrow.2002 E46 M3 TiAg Coupé >> full tracktool conversion @m346gt

What ign you currently running? I had to massive lowering ign@WOT peak rpm to not get knock control kicking in on 288/280. Also lowered a bit later than the knock recovery time. If I remember correct ended somewhere in the range of max 25°.
But if you will go on a dyno you can easy find optimal ign angle, so no need to lower it per feel.…under construction.

Yeah i'll probably leave it as is for the way to the dyno, I'm not driving over 4k rpm anyways.Originally posted by S54B32 View PostWhat ign you currently running? Maybe I'm tripping about heat since recently my coolant tank blew 😅
