Help increasing idle on MSS54HP?

Curious if someone could walk me through how to change the code/tune on my MSS54HP DME to increase the idle speed? I’d like to try setting the idle to 1,000rpm on my rally car… If it’s easy enough to do it with my laptop and cable then I’m all for it otherwise I’ll see what Hassan will charge me to do it. Thanks!

It's an easy to do if you have mssflasher and TunerPro. And you can do it with Ecuworx software.

Pretty sure I downloaded TunerPro a while back to attempt to delete a code but never got around to it. I’m familiar with mssflasher but I don’t really know my way around TunerPro.

Sure, do you have INPA K+DCAN cable?

I can do it with INPA on the MSS70. I would think it can be done on the M3 ECU

Using ECUWorx will be the easiest way to raise the idle rpm.

I can do it with INPA on the MSS70. I would think it can be done on the M3 ECU

You can't use INPA to change the idle on the MSS54/HP.

Basic procedure is as follows:

• Read out tune using MSSFlasher (recommended), BMWFlash, etc.
• Edit idle values using TunerPro or the ECUWorx Binary Modification tool and save new tune
• Flash new tune onto car

To edit using TunerPro, grab the XDF that matches your tune from here: https://github.com/saildot4k/MSS54-X...omplete%20XDFs and load into TunerPro. Then look for the KL_LFR_NSOLL_GRUND table and modify as you wish. Since you're targeting 1000 rpm idle, you likely want to change all but the -30C value to 1000 rpm.

Thanks for the reply! Between ECUWorx and TunerPro, which is “better” and more user friendly? Or is it more of a Red pill or Blue pill thing?

They both will yield the same end result. ECUWorx is definitely more user friendly though

Thanks for the help everyone, I truly appreciate it! It looks like I was successful with TunerPro and even deleted a pesky code that’s been irritating me. Played around with ECUWorx a little and that user interface is definitely much easier to navigate but not wanting to spend anymore money (plus delete a code) I decided to figure it out on TunerPro.
