Dyno mode/ Ecuworx dyno rev limit

So I have a few questions on how all of this works or supposed to work.

On my 6-speed manual transmission s54 car with mk60. I have my tune file set using ecuworx and raised the dyno rev limit to match the standard rev limit of 8k

When I went to dyno my car couple years ago, even though I have that set in the tune file, I am able to hit that rev. Limit but it still trips out. The mk60 system with ABS trifecta lights

Is that pretty much how it's supposed to work? That's the expectation?

I'm curious because on my SMG mk60 wagon I also have the Dyno rev. Limit set to match 8000 RPMs and I want to hit the dyno soon but I remember my friend who has a ZCP comp SMG car .. I said his tune file to match 8000 RPMs for the Dyna rev limit and it didn't work for him. He got the trifecta and it was hitting the lower rev limit cut off so he gave up

I'm wondering if I'm going to experience the same issue on my SMG car or if there's something else going on.

I see other websites talk about a dyno mode where you do a key combination between ignition 2 and the sport button 8 to 10 seconds etc etc...

I don't even know how you're supposed to verify that that works or not

Is the dyno mode key combination supposed to be set regardless, even if you have the dyno rev limit set in the tune file to be higher

On my old SMG, I set the dyno rev limit at 8200rpm, the rev limiter was the stock 8000 limit. Never had any issues on the dyno.

Perhaps a dumb question but do you have traction control turned off (with console button) on the dyno?

        But what was your process?

Did you get the car on the dyno and before doing anything, did you disable DSC by just pushing the button once? Did you press and hold it for any amount of time? Did you enter the "dyno" mode with the convoluted key press combination that I see on the internet?

Or was your process just modify the tune file with the 8200 RPM limit? Get on the dyno and start driving?

Did you get the trifecta on your dashboard regardless, even though you could go to 8200 RPMs?

Just dsc off (1 press, or press and hold if M-track mode is enabled).

No messing about doing the full sequence to disable dsc.

DIS lets you enable dyno mode. Easier to click the button on the screen than to try and guess the magical button incantation.

Just in case you need a backup option on the dyno.
