    INPA and some missing functionality

I wanted to test my E46 M3's electric radiator fan with INPA.

    It's a simple enough process.
Run INPA and navigate to the menu option 'Activate'. Choose the radiator fan.

This is where things deviate from the videos and other instructions i have seen.

Once you select the radiator fan you should be asked to input a percentage of full speed, that you would like the fan to run at.

When i activate my fan it just accelerates to a high speed and then decelerates to zero.

I'm pretty sure my version of INPA is one of the last released.

What controls the functionality in these tests?

Is it the contents of an IPO file?

Are you running the CSL firmware in your DME?

no, im runnig a mss54 dme with stock tunning on a e30 s54, the only modifications are swap related. In the Acticate folder I can only test the fan, no way to insert some suty cycles, it´s on or off. Same for the adaptations, i can only erase all of them. I have tryed both bmw package tools, bimmer geeks and mike easy tools, i have inserted new daten folders with no luck

FWIW it must be something about the INPA setup. As you know I've implemented Electric Fan actuation in the latest dev version of MSS54 DS2 Tool and it is possible to set whatever duty cycle you like from the software (My DME running 0401 CSL program). Will let you know when the functionality is released :-)

There is another quirk but with DIS. The results of the Vanos test are in German even though everything else is in English. Do you get the same when performing a DIS Vanos test?

Nope - the actual results that come through is just the numeric data, the words around it must be specified within DIS, or elsewhere. In the app I plan to just use the appropriate language in English and display the numeric data (plus any data interpretation in English).
