Flashing Terra's binary and the Mullet tune - questions

    Hello

I am in the process of installing a Karbonius race box along with MAP and IAT sensors. Rather than have my MSS54 modified, I purchased a used MSS54HP on ebay on which I would like to install Terra's binary and the Mullet tune.

As I am not experienced with MSSFlasher or hex editors, I have some questions.

    Terra's instructions:

Flash only the program - leave your tune as is (the tune built into the file above is just a standard CSL tune).

Read off your tune and change 0xE002 from 00 to 01, then flash that tune back to your car.

That program also has the changes to trigger the alternator light over the CAN-bus. To enable that, you'd set 0x5968 (partial binary) to 01 05 0A and enable "GENERATOR_UEBER_CAN" in your instrument cluster. If you already have the direct wiring done, then you could leave it alone and things will function like they did before.

    ****
Additional instruction from github page where Terra's binary is hosted: -flash the included Full Binary in this folder, then the 0401 partial. You may use the 0401 CSL XDFs to modify the "tune".

    Steps:
    1. Download Terra's binary and the 0401 partial for manual trans
    2. Open MSSFlasher and load the binary
    3. MSSFlasher "Flash Prg" - (does "Use fullbin" need to be checked?)
    4. MSSFlasher "Open tune" or "Open fullbinary" to load the 0401 partial?
    5. MSSFlasher "Flash Prg" or "Flash Tune" to flash 0401 partial?
    6. MSSFlasher "Read Tune"
    7. MSSFlasher "Save Tune"
    8. Open tune in hex editor and change 0xE002 from 00 to 01
    9. MSSFlasher "Open tune" - load the tune modified in step 8 above
    10. MSSFlasher "Flash Tune"
    11. MSSFlasher "Open tune" - load the Mullet tune
    12. MSSFlasher "Flash Tune"

    Now for the questions...

    1. When does one select the "Use fullbin" checkbox in MSSFlasher?

    2. "Flash only the program - leave your tune as is (the tune built into the file above is just a standard CSL tune)." - Is this because the assumption is that the user will likely be using the Paffy binary and will already have a specific tune? Since that is not the case for me how will this affect step 3?

    3. Steps 4 & 5 - why is the 0401 partial required? Do I select "Open tune" or "Open fullbinary" to load it? Do I select "Flash prg" or "Flash tune" to flash it?

    4. Step 8 - Would TunerPro be the appropriate program to complete this step? If not, what would be suitable?

    5. My car is a facelift 2003 and it is my understanding that the instrument cluster is hardwired for the alternator light, meaning I don't need to make any changes to trigger the light over CAN-bus. Correct?

I am sure there will be something I forgot to ask....

    Thanks.
