Keep in mind they can get greasy and go off a cliff like the old RE01R did. So you can't drive them as hard as the RE71R

The surface at this track (MSR Houston) turns to total garbage when it is hot and sunny. It is inconsistent where the track loses grip. Let's say it was a tricky weekend. The car still did well. No issues other than a falling bolt and washer from something (I think the sunroof delete). About 3 seconds off my PR which isn't bad considering it was hot as hell and the Toyo RRs are almost at the end of their life.

Henry I can't say enough good things about you and your driving. I can't remember the last time I was driving that hard and because of it made that many mistakes! It was an absolute blast and I thank you for it. Next time I will bring my A game and hopefully the results will be different lol. For anyone looking to learn how to drive the Glen do a GVC BMW event and ask for trackjunky to be your instructor!

I still owe that silver E46 $20 for not letting you by at turn 2.....

Here's my view of the battle.

Wernd thx for the kind words. Man you are quick! You kept me on my toes the whole time which was fun as hell. The Glen is my home track. I probably have over 2k laps at the Glen on you so considering that you did damn well! I always run with BMWCCA GVC chapter because they always put on a great event and this last one was no exception.

That silver E46... I was pretty annoyed as you can see my hand gesture 😄. It really killed the flow we had and the gap I got, but it made things a bit more spicy afterwards, like that pass at the bus stop lol. Looking forward to our next one!

Trackjunky can post his videos too. Once again Henry it was amazing running with you and your chapter. It was also a lot of fun helping you with the advanced classroom, I hope I helped.

Your contributions to the discussion with the advanced group was super informative and much appreciated. Thanks for sharing some of your speed secrets with me and doing a bit of lead follow in the beginning to guide me through this track that I've never been to before. Here's a video of my 2:01 lap AND getting a point from you at the end. A pass is a pass. haha. I had a great time running with you as always. Can't wait for the next!

1:46.67 MSRH CCW, I wanna say I can get a 45 on street tires with a perfect lap. I think this lap had a lot of good things going for it, but I killed my exit out of bus stop. Still giving up a bit in gut check. I can't believe how committed I was out of 17, definitely a low 46 possible.. The PFC 83s in the front were a huge confidence boost compared to the PFC 08s. Sucks I probably won't be able to find another NOS set but they seem to be wearing like Iron.

If anyone is curious what is done. 3400lb E46 M3, headers, Bimmerworld exhaust, stock tune, bucket seat, CF trunk lid, old GC coilovers, hotchkis front bar, ZCP front brakes, PFC 83 front pads and PFC 08 rears. 265 Direzza Z3s. Stock toe, pretty aggressive camber settings.

Nice! That's quick for no aero!

Try turning in a little earlier for gut check. Get the right tires right next to the curbing it and will stabilize the car vs waiting later and then fighting the off cambered surface on the outside with a tighter radius. It also lengthens the available amount of time to brake in a straight line into sugar and spice which allow you to stay on throttle longer.

Then brake down the middle of the track into sugar and spice. Its weird but I've found that there's a lot more grip there than the outside. If you're trail braking you really don't need to go to the outside of the track.
