And then like 20 mi after getting them on this happened lol:
HELL YES!!! Now I know what my EC-7's would look like in Silver 😀 Car looks fantastic!
The difference in performance from 19's to 18's is pretty real. I did this exact conversion. When the car instantly feels that much more nimble, you start to become a believer in unsprung weight reduction. Similar concept: I know there are downsides to single mass flywheels / lightweight clutches, but man it has a big impact on performance.
IMHO... 18 is the perfect size wheel for performance & aesthetics. While I LOVE the look of 19s (BBS LM anyone?), 18s provide great brake clearance, lower mass, more compliance (think pot holes), great handling and really good heat management on track. 17's are even better but you're limited on / compromise brakes.
I've spent $9600 (Big 3 + valve adjustment, hoses/cooling etc etc and you can't even tell looking at it! On top of that it's summer so 100F everyday and the aircon is DEAD, they tried to regas it and it leaked immediately.
On the plus side I finally installed a ksport BBK 356 f 330 r.
heinzboehmer Wow the wheels look great man! Good news about the nail, it's not close to the side wall at all meaning at least you don't need a new tire, that would suck!

Thanks! Yeah it was an easy fix fortunately. $35 and an hour at the tire shop was all it took.
Oh and this is what got stuck in the tire. Ridiculous lol
Installed new suspension and sourced a set of BBS RE1598 / GT4 wheels. Used by BMW on the factory M325iR racecars. Also stripped out the interior. Next up is a roll cage and some lightweight door cards. My E30, E90, and E34 chilling in the background. Love my old Bimmers.
Nice fitment, alpine white one of my favorite colors...good job!
Otherwise drive that AMG crack 63!! That’s the point of that second car. I do like the hardtop on these, just not enough to store one. Otherwise I’d have maybe 3 SLs by now😂🤣. Car looks good @oceanside.
