Contact Raj at Beisan, he sent me a gauge to help troubleshoot a vanos issue I had and told me he had planned on selling them soon, so maybe you could get one comming in days not months.
    Good luck.
I'll check with him. Thanks for mentioning it. Appreciate your advice and pointing me in the right direction.

It comes with both orings and filter.

Dr.Vanos hooked me up with a used but very functional pressure limiting valve including new orings. Also picked up a new vanos sealing plate. Highly recommend him.

The Vanos Pressure Regulator came in from Dr.Vanos, on the right. Looks more like a traditional oring on the end, whereas the one from my vanos looks more like a black band. Should I have a preference for one or the other?

That black band used to be an o-ring when new. It's only flattened because it's old and heat cycled. Definite preference for the new part.

Wow, thanks. Its perfectly flattened without any bulges like might be present on a deformed part. I'll be sure to use the new one.

I'm installing a new vanos plate with the viton orings. Is there any reason to take off the solenoid for additional deep cleaning? Beisan DIY suggests doing so but not sure if that's overkill or worth the extra effort.

You will have your solenoid block out regardless to change the plate or the orings in current plate so I would take the time to clean it via the magnet method, might as well.
You do need some pretty strong magnets though, if you have an old HDD from a desktop PC at home you don't mind losing open it up and use the neodymium magnets found inside.

I like your thinking. Gotta be an old HDD around here for the task.
