    Steering coupler

Has anyone ever tried fitting the e92 M3 steering coupler to their e46? Is the spline size the same?

Apparently I will be the first one to try it out.

Not familiar with the E9X M3 so what would the reason for the swap be? Does it have a solid coupler?

I'm RHD so I just put the CMP solid coupler in and there is definitely a improvement in feel/steering tightness. No additional harshness or vibrations.

What is the advantage of doing so, if it fits?

There was a thread on the old forum where people tried a bunch of different parts from other BMWs.

IIRC, none of them fit, but I wish you luck!

                Correct. No rubber.

There has to be someone that tried it before. If it did not fit I wonder if its a spline size problem or the length is different.

Same. CMP solid steering coupler dramatically improved steering responsiveness & tightness. First and only mod I've done to the steering setup on the m3

Don't get your hopes up...we went through this in another thread and nothing worked (properly). I hope I am wrong and we somehow missed this but I doubt it.

I am sure you are right, but no one said that they had definitely tried so I thought I give it a shot and at least prove/disprove it.
