    Center console rubbing passenger seat

Anyone have this issue and know a fix? Driver bolster has a good 1” of space. But passenger bolster is rubbing on the console creating creaking noises on the slightest road imperfections. Thanks in advance

Man ive been chasing this one for years with no luck. I even undid all the rail bolts and made sure the seat was shifted as far away as possible and it didnt do shit. Theres no way these came from the assembly line creaking like this. Or is there? Lol

There's some adjustment built into the center console.

Remove the shift boot/smg surround and loosen the two screws that hold the shifter trim and center console in place. Then remove your rear ashtray and you'll find two screws. Your console will either have slots or a couple holes that those screws go through (depends on whether you have an armrest or not) so that you can adjust the fitment. Adjust it, tighten everything back down and you should be good to go.

Funny, I’ve removed my center console at least 3x and never noticed this. Thanks so much I’ll take a look

It might sound silly but try rubbing a light coating of Vaseline on the two surfaces. That's worked for me with many squeaks and creaking noises. Let me know if that helps.

If you have the adjustable side bolstering, tighten it up till no contact.

Huh, I thought I remembered seeing multiple holes below the rear ashtray for the screws to go through, but I might just be misremembering. Sorry about that.

The short center console is definitely slotted though:

Maybe you could make your own slots? Although, now that I think about it, you would need to find a way to move the armrest along with the center console.

Fixed the issue. You simply pull the back of the center console towards the driver side. Took some pressure but it moved a good amount.

after undoing the screws discussed earlier? weird, mine had like no wiggle room- i was pulling on it hard enough to feel like i was about to break it

No, I simply pulled on it. Maybe I should go and try to tighten those screws so it won’t move back
