I’m thinking of changing out of 10W60.
My motor is a bit more sensitive to cold starts.
Does anyone have thoughts comparing 5W50 vs 5W40?
Bimmerworld lists 5W40 as optimal for cold conditions but wouldn’t the 5W50 still be better for Summer months?

I've been using Redline 10w-40 for a long while now and the engine feels happy. Awesome oil pressure at all times, so far haven't had the need to go to a thicker oil.

IamFODI Is there even a shelf life of oil say I want to stock up on a couple dozen liters of tws or rav?

If the above is true, it's because I'm lazy is that a good enough reason?

Interesting video that is clearly sponsor-bait by Mobil 1 but I still found it informative.
