The crossover has much larger effect on power than you think.

    "...resonators don't flow good...."

No, resonators actually speed up flow similar to how a golf ball flies through the air (dimples).

"...finally see what's the best setup (crossover) for this car."

We already know - the H, at the end of sect 1 or beginning of sect 2. Unless you're talking about a track car that lives above 5k where the X pipe makes a hair more HP, at the sacrifice of low/mid tq.

Thanks for reply Tyler, Seems like people already did tests on crossovers here, so i guess im wrong and my crossover location is bad (see pic), So ill take your advice and move my H pipe to factory location and hopefully ill get my power back.

No problem. You could put it right before those resonators like CPI (bought by bimmerworld) used to do on their sect 1s, that seemed to work fine (dyno-wise).

I'd just put the stock sect 2 back. It's actually 60mm overall (it starts out at like 58mm where it meets sect 1iirc, but opens up, sometimes into a square shape).

Now im scared if i put it before resonators it wont be as efficient as in section 2.
I didn't want to to touch section 2 since its Meisterchaft/Eisenmann piece, thats why i put H pipe in section 1 in first place but turns out it was bad idea 😅
Btw i know that my section 1 is ugly af but it's only test piece atm, once the results will be met, ill take it to exhaust shop that will use TIG and stainless steel to weld up beautiful version of it 🙂

I guess I'll chime in here with a couple of might be obvious questions.

Has anyone put a dual S (unresonated, not crossed over) Section 2 behind a dual resonated (rasp terminating) Section 1? Does that mess up the crossover dynamics we're discussing here? I'm thinking of this as a way to cut rasp then slightly amplify that sound before a stock muffler, without ruining the dyno effects.

I'm not worried about drone because I'm top down, and since I'm not boosted I'm also not really worried about headers (or power for that matter). I think my car is another one of those factory freaks that just feels and sounds different. I've noticed this with AMG cars as well, so I'm not thinking they're all the same from the factory (my S55 is another factory freak, one of the last ever produced, faster than every other S55 I've ever encountered). But I certainly don't want to RUIN any power delivery.

Once I realize that the only difference between US and Euro exhaust setup is the placement of the 200-cell cats from the headers to Section 1 (and thinner piping), I'm wondering if anyone has put a Euro Section 2 behind stock US headers and Section 1? Is Euro Section 2 made from the same thinner piping? I'm thinking that as a way to get more sound without ruining power (same architecture with thinner pipes), and I'll take any weight loss that comes with it.

My thinking is 200-cells are barely there anyway so the few ponies freed up by moving them farther away from the block isn't worth chasing.

Tbonem3 you seem to be the resident expert here, but I'm interested in others' thoughts and experiences as well.

            Cheers,

            maw

EDIT... to distill my question, is there a bolt up midsection (I missed out on Borla when they were making them) that (1) cuts rasp and (2) amplifies sound, to go with a stock US Sections 1 and 3? I notice SuperSprint has one but I don't know if it does what I want. Any others?

The H right before the resonators is good, but the X is better after.
