I hate to ask this question, because I have had nothing but issues with the Hard Motorsports parts I purchased, but the low profile ducting kit they offer looks promising. So did the door cards but they are now splash protection during oil changes. Anyone have any experience with this kit?

I'd be more inclined to run something like BW's setup: https://www.bimmerworld.com/E46-M3-B...2005-2006.html

The StopTech C43 kit is an interesting option. Seems like it would fit the needs of the car pretty well, but I don't know enough about that specific system to comment.

II looked at the Stoptech C43 for a while. It almost seems like an attempt to follow in the vein of the AP with an anodized finish lightweight caliper with reasonably available pads. I just haven’t been able to gather enough real world experienced reviews about it to make a decision. I mean the price is incredibly reasonable in the grand scheme of things I just don’t know what I would be getting into.

And as to the rears, I have an irrational fear that I will need my handbrake for something at some point, but hopefully that is not the case. I’m trying to get in touch with Futura to talk about trailers but the price gouging is, well, gouging.

Bruh what is wrong with these stoptech characters?

First they copied brembo GTs, then they copied GT-Rs, now they copied APs 😂

It's worth noting that StopTech is getting a huge price hike across the board that's effective tomorrow (Dec 1). For example, the MAP for the C43 front kit is going up by over a thousand dollars.

I really want the brembo gt kit on all four corners. But the F80 conversion kit also seems like a great option.

The ST40 kit can take advantage of FCP E pads. Again, same pad shape as a 928/944/968.

That is a tonne of unnecessary weight, the front rotors are like 25 lbs and rears are over 20 lbs. Even full weight car being driven at a good pace does not need 380 rotors. Have seen a tonne of really fast guys running 355 kits up front with cooling ducts and stock sized rear rotors (either stock calipers or the 996 kit). Plus these are swiss cheese (drilled), although there might be some aftermarket solutions (not super familiar with the kit options).

All jobs done as diy - clutch, rod bearings, rear subframe rebush, vanos, headers, cooling, suspension, etc.

PM for help in NorCal. Have a lot of specialty tools - vanos, pilot bearing puller, bushing press kit, valve adjustment, fcab, wheel bearing, engine support bar, etc.

I’ll be honest Didn’t realize the f80 kit was 380. That’s way too big especially with 200tw tires.

I really just want a kit with good brake bias, good pad options, that gets rid of the flexing rear caliper.

I had the st40 332mm with oem rears and was cracking rings too often. The pedal feel also sucked.

The brembo 355 gt-s kit is on my wish list but not sure which rear kit to pair it with.

I'm not sure there are huge gains to be made with rear kits. StopTech rings aren't very good, but if you use better rings with the rest of the kit you will have good results.

Agreed. My goal with the rear kit is improved pedal feel not necessarily stopping distance.

Yeah, fronts are 380x30, rears are 370x24.

I hear you on finding the best, that's what we are all searching for, haha.

Getting rid of the sliding caliper improves feel/modulation and confidence.

In terms of the rotor size in rear, if we take AP as being one of the best, they make a rear caliper kit that reuses the stock rotor. My slight concern there in rear is ventilation with the ebrake there and bearings taking a beating with the small-ish rotor heating up.

I have C43 fronts paired with 996 rears. C43 pads are hella cheap. Currently using the race pads that came with the kit (have DS1.11s that will eventually go on), and PFC 01s for the rear. Haven’t tracked the car with this setup yet, but will be driving at COTA on Friday and will report back. On the skreetz, the pedal feel is much better with the upgraded front and rear brakes. No mushy feeling.

I have the 996 kit with ferodo 3.12 pads that I sourced through a friend when FCP wasn't carrying either the DS1.1 or DTC60/70's. I found the setup to be pretty good on track, but not earth shattering. passengers on the other hand were surprised with how deep I was braking, so maybe I'm a bit numb to the actual speeds/braking points.

I think I'm going to pick up some DTC70's from FCP so that I can warranty them as that was my whole point of this brake upgrade in the first place.
