Is there a part number for these foam bumper pieces that go above the kevlar support? I'm starting to see some gapping between my headlights and bumper and noticed I did not have any of these foam pieces on my support bar.

Thank you for posting this thread by the way. I'm doing a re-work on my front end and this helps a ton.

Here's the backside of the early bumper cover. The aluminum carrier snaps into the plastic strip. There are push pins that secure it too. The plastic strip is mounted by plastic tabs that fit through slots then melted to keep it in place. I accidentally broke those too.

Yeah that's significantly different than the inside of the carbon carrier bumper cover.

I got my car back from painter, didn't have any fitment issues and I don't believe they cut the tabs off.

I too have a Euro front bumper waiting to be pre-fit (when I find time), painted and installed. What I gathered here is the foam NextelBuddy used is what came with the reinforcement from the factory. Apparently with kevlar reinforcement equipped cars these foam pieces fall off with time so he used epoxy to get it back on.

I need to get all my exterior parts pre-fit and sent off for paint, ughhhhhh so many damn projects and not enough time.

edit: Upon further inspection, it looks like he did use a foam that's aftermarket for one of the pieces.

Yeah the foam comes with the kevlar carrier and falls off with age. I don't think you can buy it separately.

Any higher density foam will work though. It's just there to support the top edge of the bumper, so it's nothing special. Hit up your local crafts store and you should be able to find something that works.

I ended up cutting up my wife's foam roller lol. I tried buying the foam used but sellers want $75 bucks a piece. Insanity. What type of glue/adhesive do you think I should use?

I have yet to do this on my car, so I don't have a good answer for you, unfortunately. The joint won't be under much force though, so any two part epoxy should work fine.

My car is at the shop right now getting a euro bumper fitted and theres some severe fitment issues going on. I bought mine from ECS here: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/51117894989/.

They suspect it is not a genuine part because it says it is made in taiwan and also is lacking the infamous tabs. Can anyone confirm?

                      Edit:

Wow ECS straight up sent me a non-genuine part......

Can’t confirm but if it says Made in Taiwan it sounds like the replicas they sell for the non-Ms. Is my guess.

I bet someone bought a crappy aftermarket bumper somewhere and didn't like it so they bought a real one from ECS and “returned” the crappy one.

Thats what im thinking. I googled the number stamped followed by “bumper” and a cheap replica comes up. The guy i spoke with was very helpful though and hes getting another one rush shipped to the shop and also seeing what they can do about the fact that the shop is probably within their rights to charge me twice for paint since I supplied the bumper

I have an OEM Euro bumper from ECS Tuning sitting in a box in my garage. Now I have to take it out and ensure it's an OEM part, making me nervous.
