Correct, so am I able to run a US Sec 1 with euro headers without welding in a bung for the EGT or is the EGT required.

EGT is not required, especially if you are not running cats. My understanding is the EGT sensor is there to protect the cats more than anything, in fact that may be it's sole purpose. Someone correct me if I am wrong on this. Just use Martyn's software to code out the post cat o2 sensors/EGT.

Cool. I plan on using Hassan and getting a true tune to optimize it. Maybe it’ll be smarter to use Martyns software to code it out while I go through RB break in (assuming the consensus is we need one).

Currently, the plan is rod bearings and headers all at once. I’m guessing Hassan will want the whole power band so I’ll need to be through any break in, if there is one, before the tune.

Sorry I didn’t word that right. I meant I left the egt wire plugged in, but the sensor itself is just zip tied and set aside

Correct. EGT can be removed with euro headers and OEM sec. 1. This is what if did

I’m in the middle of prepping for my install on Saturday. I didn’t see a ton of info on the corks but here is what I used, I picked them up at Lowe’s. I moved my expansion tank over towards the air intake, but left the semi-hard line that runs along the front of the car attached. It’s flexible enough to be moved out of the way without disconnecting.

Just about the best way to do it. Headers without the engine mount in place is almost a joy. Good luck!

Does anyone have a link to a good EGT bung cap? I am running CPI stepped headers with the EGT and pre-cat sensors plugged in and caps on the post-cat bungs, and just installed euro section 1 with the post-cat sensors but the EGT bung is open. I need a quick way to plug the open hole.

There is a bmw part you could order. I sacrificed an old egt sensor and made my own.
