For the bottom washer below the bushing, I used 91860A033 from McMaster. ID was perfect (minimal play) but the OD was a bit large for the chamfer at the bottom of the camber plate. I got them turned by 2.5mm radially and they worked like a charm.

I should have a spare pair of turned washers if anyone's interested in them. I'd probably just put them in an envelope with a stamp. PM me if you want them. Tbonem3 ?

Top washer was just a regular M14 zinc-plated steel washer.

You don't happen to have a close up picture of this stuff mocked up do you? Without the parts in front of me, I'm having trouble visualizing why you need a bottom washer or why a regular M14 (14mm ID) washer wouldn't suffice.

As far as I can remember, I have the turner bushing (metal portion) right down on the square shoulder of the MCS damper shaft.

I can take a few pics at some point since I need to disassemble my strut anyway, but here's a general description. With the square shoulder of the strut and the larger square shoulder of the bushing's metal sleeve, my concern was that the mismatch of size would cause point loading on the strut shoulder. With a washer in there, the bushing's sleeve has its load distributed evenly across it, which is then distributed evenly across the square shoulder. The M14 washer has a 15mm ID, which allows for 0.5mm radial play (the strut shaft is damn close to 14mm). To make it as tight a fit as possible, the 1/2" washer came in at 14.27mm which was perfect.

The ID of the bushing sleeve looked to me like it was resting on the chamfer of the shoulder, which made me nervous. I believe GC street plates also come with washers for this, but I'm struggling to find any photos or instructions whatsoever.

None of this matters for the double nuts at the top, because that is just load bearing and not locating around a small diameter. Also, double nutting is genius... forget Nylocks and counterholding and all that crap. I'm double nutting every strut I install from here on out. Between all of this and machining my own 2.25" perches, it's been satisfying to wrap this up.

Thanks, I'll have to disassemble mine soon and take a look. I probably will want the extra pair of washers you have - I'll PM you thanks!

Pretty glad I found this before I assembled my setup. Turner Streets with Konis. If I'm gathering this correctly I need a sleeve as well? Big thanks for bringing this to light!

No, I don't think so. This is an issue for the 14mm shafts like MCS not stock, koni, bilstein, kw...

Just to follow up from my previous posts ITT, I actually found 2 washers that were perfect to increase the surface area for the 14 to 16mm sleeves to sit on instead of just the MCS shaft square edge "shoulder". Thank you r4dr

what are you using for spring perches though? can't run 60mm springs from what i can see. why does turner make things so difficult.

Yes, at least a few years ago, you could order 60mm with the tms plates.

Yeah looks like this is the one: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3...r-plates-pair/

Bummer. I wonder if other brands may work.

cobra mentioned getting some made in another thread, i'll look into this but everything is expensive out here.

No, as long as you are talking about stock replacement Koni struts which are 16mm diameter with a tapered shoulder, just like stock struts. If you are talking about TC Kline coilovers, then yes you will want something to adapt the 14mm shaft to the 16mm hole in the Turner plates.

Because Turner's part dept was bought by ECS a few years' back and has gone down the toilet. I get a lot of people buying through ECS for the "lifetime replacement" and then calling us wondering why their parts haven't shipped after weeks of no response. Go ask ECS, I have no idea, lol.

So if I'm understanding this, correctly, with the B6's and the Turner street plates, you'll need these shims to take up shaft play?

No, stock or stock replacement stuff is 16mm so no sleeve/bearing needed. MSC adn other highend stuff is 14mm and you'll need a sleeve.

Vorslag's plates come with an insert to accomodate the 2 sizes of shafts fyi.
