made sure my bar had the black anodized ends and ended up forgetting to ask for it in gloss clear instead of matte. having it PPF'd got me 95% there though with of course the benefit of more protection!

It does look great, but not sure how well PPF is going to hold up in the engine bay. I probably would have just used a Rust-Oleum high heat gloss or Cerakote Gloss Ceramic.

Let us know how it fairs!

clearing it myself was the first thing that came to mind. direct input from Slon's paint department was to sand (by hand only) with a 500 grit sanding pad to prep for clear

i was too afraid of messing up the otherwise flawless finish of the bar opted for the more reversible step of PPF, never considered how it'd hold up to engine bay heat, will def report back after use!

I'm with you there. I would also not feel too comfortable sanding, but obviously adding gloss clear over a matte clear is going to be a little hazy, so their instructions are understandable.

Good luck. I really don't know, it may work great, but I wouldn't be surprised if it shrinks and pulls back a bit.

Is there a three point brace option that isn’t carbon fiber and 4k?

I don’t think I will have a problem installing the Slon rear brace with my CMP RACP brace in, will I?

No that won't work. The Slon rear brace protrudes rearwards further than the seat backs.

Hmmm ok you’re saying the “X” on the panel would interfere with the brace on the lower end? I wonder if I could cut a relief into the back of the brace?

You can trim the Slon panel and bond it to the CMP brace.

No, the entire thing is likely gonna interfere. The flat plane onto which the "X" is embossed extends about 20mm further back than the seats:

Ok maybe I don’t have a path to install. I’m certainly not taking my CMP brace out. What would you recommend to get a close as possible to the rear stiffness gain from the Slon panel … buy a GTR type rear brace or weld in a metal panel similar to a E46 sedan with no pass through?

You could put a notch where the panel is raised. If someone could bend a metal bracket that fits against the X and CMP brace, I could make a carbon part from it. I'd charge anyone in this thread about $20 plus shipping. Unless you're an a$$hole then you pay the a$$hole tax on top of it which is $10000000.00.
