RPM occasionally fluctuates with AC Compressor on

ALRIGHT. I think I figured this out. I don't know if this solution is exactly the best, but it works.
Step 1: Tune your car via pasha's thread.
Step 2: Raise your idle RPM to 950

I am blasting AC on full and it doesn't do the wiggle wiggle engine rev.
Let me know if this works for you also.

I’ll raise the idle RPM and see how it feels. Already contacted HTE to have that done once the cars out of the bodyshop and workshop.

I really really need people that are more seasoned with tuning that me to chime in on this because I just don't think an of-the-shelf tune can work as well as what pasha suggested, especially for drivability.

One of the shops I visited said that if they could tune the car to raise the idle RPM it would prob fix this.. but they said E46 doesn't have a tune for that?

I just did it with ecuWorx, worth the $25. You don't need it in theory, but it gives you an interface so you don't have to find the 1s and 0s for it in the bin file. The coding section has a lot of help.

I have ECUworx, but just used it to flash CSL SMG. Was it easy to raise the idle RPM? My skill level is basically needs step by step instructions lol

2/10 difficulty.
You load the .bin file into ecuworx, in one of the tabs you will find idle rpm, and change it from 780 to 950.
Save the file, then load it to your ECU.

I just opened the program and read through all the functions on the front page. I only saw the ability to raise RPM limiter. Didn't see how to raise min RPM. Screenshots would be amazing.

sweeet! thank you. I'm guessing there's no harm in doing this right? I think that's what your original post was prob trying to figure out. Other than burning more gas I don't think it'll have an impact.

well, i dont think it has an impact at all, since i usually keep the gas pressed at stop lights to 1000 rpm anyway to avoid my car revving back and forth

no, i was doing this previously to avoid the issue described in this thread, rpm going up and down, shaking was not a good way to describe it
