    Yep, I should have recorded down to show the HVAC controls as I keep it off usually. Seems to last a long ass time too 😂. The noise stops just before the video ends. I didn't think that was normal...maybe blower assembly on the way out?

      i found this video too from e46 fanatics...sound a lot like the same noise.

        I usually start the car and let it idle until the RPM drops to normal which takes about a minute. After that I shift smoothly and I dont go past 3k rpms.

          Lower rpm saves the first gear (or reverse) synchro.
