Is this different than TTFS or Build Journal tunes?

I would assume that they are not different. It can easily be checked by looking at the calibration maps and comparing them to the factory CSL. I would 100% stick to the factory CSL calibration for the SMG system.

I have compared a few of these small tuner engine calibrations to the factory CSL. In certain cases, the changes made to the maps were either minimal or very questionable.

Great. At step 3 right after setting up WinKFP, when entering the Comfort mode and the "ZUSB" I get different options than in the screenshot for "integration". Any idea what this is? According to Google Translate "Unverbaut" from the original screenshot means unobstructed, if that matters :-)

Click image for larger version Name:	Screenshot 2024-08-27 223530.png Views:	0 Size:	11.6 KB ID:	276881

If I move on to the next step, after clicking "done" the contents of the main screen are identical to the screenshot in the original post.

EDIT: After closing and re-opening WinKFP, I get identical screens as in the original post.

I followed the TCU flash steps with WinKFP and as some people described it took about 30 seconds and I did not get to the second faster run. Do we have any info on what might be the cause for this? I feel like something got missed in the process.

EDIT: Well, it worked - the car defaults to auto mode and the shifts are as they should be.

Can anyone confirm that the Engine Torque Maps change here is the "SMG inertia update" referred to elsewhere?
What does the "SMG inertia update" do?

This option increases the clamping force of the clutch reducing SMG ‘clutch slur’. It is recommended when using the CSL SMG Shifting and Rev Matching option.

                    Has anyone experience the following?

I have a 2005 ZCP SMG and have converted drivetrain to CSL (airbox, oem snorkel, MAP sensor, CSL tune, Martyn tool, etc).

Now when driving in S4, the upshifts are OK, downshift blips are great (when shifting +3500). Blip matches revs and there is no engine breaking (actually blip slightly over revs).

In S5, the upshifts are great (a little clunky, but that's expected), but the downshifts unsettle the car. When I blip (again +3500), the rev match is horrible. It's like the car needs to blip 1000rpms to fully match, and it blips 600rps and engine brakes the remaining 400rpms... the car becomes totally unsettled and quite dangerous.

I would imagine this isn't supposed to happen. Can any-one take a look at my SMG tune? I got it back in 2010, so i don't remember who did it but I can't imagine BMW OK'ing something like this.

If this IS the correct tune from BMW, is there anyway someone can adjust S5 and S6 rev matching?

I don't experience what you do.

What gear does your car start in? If you have the CSL tune it will start in A3 every time. Regardless I would flash using these instructions.
