    euroconnex Haimus to Karbonius?

Been piecing together my Haimus groupbuy airbox to stumble on this post that this guy Matt is now going Karbonius... crazy times to flip like that but how does this forum feel about this, kinda hypocritical given he downplayed Karb? Might have to sell my Haimus i guess.

Just buy straight from ECS / Turner or IND. I tried to price a few different items and join “upcoming” group buys that never materialized. I priced a Haimus airbox out with him once that ended up being $300-400 more expensive than buying directly from Haimus.

as much as he claimed to be an enthusiast trying to spread the word on cool companies, it was obvious that he only promoted products that he stood to make a profit from

if you already have a Haimus box and it seems ok then i dont see a reason to sell it for a Karb one

his business model, whether advertised or not, has definitely shifted from "group buy" to, "pay me a convenience fee to source products/services for you"

I personally find it hilarious that he quotes himself in his own articles.

I personally don't worry at all about what Matt is doing. Do you have some particular concern about your Haimus box?

I didn’t even mind paying for something that he was able to source in group buys. My issue was, once he took your money, he could care less about the buyer. If there was an issue, his response was: “ you go deal with it “ even though it was his group buy. All he cared was getting products for his car for next to nothing by organizing group buys on parts he needed.

TheElite///M3 as others have said, there's really nothing wrong with the Haimus box at this point especially if it's one of their newer versions (I think within the last 2 years?). The IAT repositioning is probably an improvement over the original IAT location.

I didn't fully read your comment re: thinking about selling your Haimus - I thought that you were looking to potentially purchase a Karbonius box vs. the Haimus which is why I brought up the "buy direct" vs. Euroconnex because, to be completely honest, it takes about 30 minutes to add everything you need to cart at ECS with the exception of the actual airbox. That, to me, wasn't worth $300-400 upcharge.

Call a spade a spade. Matt is trying to make money by offering convenience and, to be fair, I do think he banks on a certain type of buyer who might not be inclined to price check or just reach out to companies on their own. Good example that comes to mind would be the Motorsport24 aka KK Automotive hoods. His price is a lot higher than if you just buy and ship direct. I don’t remember the exact spread but it was several hundred bucks difference for the exact same stuff.

agreed, everything I priced on his site was noticeably more expensive to purchase through him, even the KW kits. My SS order ended up being marginally less than purchasing elsewhere, but not for every piece, only the headers in the end.

Dudes been having the car worked on for like 3-4 years and has changed everything on it twice now, including the paint. If it ever gets finished, I bet that thing will go up for sale within a year lol.
