Currently, I have a slightly mis-matched pair on the car. I have the Continental Extreme Contact DSW06 on the rears (newer) and Continental Extreme Contact DSW (non-06 - older) on the front.
As you can see, I live in Casper, WY and currently commute to Douglas, WY. It's about a 100mi total commute every day on I-25. Speed limit is 80mph and I stick to it.
My concern is if I get another All-Season tire like that or if I go for a summer tire. Years ago, I had Michelin PSS on it I think? Honestly can't remember, it's been so long. I don't even remember what they felt like. I've also had Hankook Ventus on it at one time as well.
Naturally I'd like to go with a summer tire, but the interstate between Casper and Douglas gets downright dangerous in the winter. It's not uncommon for it to be closed due to snow/wind/ice.
I do have a Jeep Wrangler with BSG KO/2, so it's an admirable snow performer around town. I'd rather drive the M3 to work on those iffy days than the Jeep, but I usually grab the Jeep since the KO/2 are better in the snow. I also only drive the Jeep at 70 on the interstate because it just gulps gas at 80. lol
With as far as I commute, the M3 is preferred for gas mileage and comfort/speed.
Would you folks go with an All-Season or a Summer?
