specifically formulated water based and penetrates the coating on our leather.

Specifically that thread said nothing could penetrate the coating on our leather... which has been proven false, and you clearly agree to that since you linked to a different product that does.

Leatherique absolutely, without doubt, penetrates the top coat on our leather. If you do a car that hasn't been treated for a couple of years, significantly more product is needed than a car that was recently treated as it absorbs in immediately.

I used Trinova this weekend. The only thing I have to compare it to is the creamy Armor All leather crap that doesn’t seem to do much.

A random person on a random forum said that it was okay stuff and that was good enough for me to throw my money at it.

It didn’t transform my seats into a baby calf but they are better than before i applied the product so I guess that is some kind of win

Do you put any protective product on after the APC?

I found the following video on YouTube discussing and demonstrating Leatherique. The host sells Leatherique so he's not totally unbiased, but he swears by it and does a great job explaining why. He also dispelled some myths related to the product not penetrating modern leather, etc. Based on the video and comments from the community, I'm going to give Leatherique a try on the crusty red leather in my '02.

That host is the founder of Esoteric Detailing - a pretty well known detailing company and detailer. People send their cars from all over the country to his shop in Columbus, OH. He even did the VINWiki Ferrari.

If it’s good enough for Esoteric, I figure it’s good enough for me in my garage.

I've found leatherique to be great, especially if trying to restore dried out leather.

I've also used Zaino Z-9 and Z-10 with good results. These are much better suited for maintaining good looking leather rather than for trying to revive old leather.

I don't think it'll be able to restore cracks, but here's what my interior looked like at 150,000 miles, just before I replaced the seats, with regular leatherique treatments for many years:

I always top it with swissvax leather cream as a topping protective coat.
Ive been meaning to buy from Swissvax for a long time, since the are a Concours awarded brand. Which leather cleaner do you use from them? Do you use any other SwissVax products?

Yea I just found that video last night before I ordered the leatherique per Obiobans suggestion. I'm a little nervous about using any product. I used some Meguiars gold wipes from walmart (I'm embarrassed to say), and found they turned a little brown afterwards from my cinnamon seats. I don't know if that means the previous owner dyed the seats. I'll probably do a test patch on the backseat with the leatherique and then post my results if it doesn't look like I'll destroy them.

Just make sure you give the leatherique rejuvenator a full 24 hours in the heat before using the cleaner!

When you have cracks, the dye underneath the original protective coating is exposed and it will turn the towel slightly orange/brown. Leatherique won't fix those cracks unfortunately (no leather conditioner will), but it will help slow the cracks and degradation of the leather. To keep the leather in great condition with minimal cracks/creases, leather conditioning needs to be done yearly (more depending on environment) from when the seats are new.

Last (and only) time I used leatherique, I pulled my whole interior because I feared that the product would release fumes that would settle onto other interior surfaces. Is this something to be concerned about or was I being overly paranoid?

Agreed, also, really give it time. With my car interior reaching 150-160F during the day, 3 days on my drivers seat (reapplying twice a day) gave significantly different results than 1.5 days for the passenger seat.

I doubt it, it's designed to be used with the interior in the car and people have been using it that way for a long time. No complaints on my end.

I too recommend Leatherique after I used it for the first time two weeks ago. It's more expensive than most products but it does more. A true restorer opposed to a cleaner/conditioner. I let it sit for 48 hours and the leather feels hydrated and supple. Before and after pictures are attached.
