I have two of the MXS 5.0s and and of the Lithium XSs.
I mean, I'm not sure I would risk destroying an expensive lithium battery by cheaping out on the charger, but I still wonder if lead acid and lithium chargers actually do the same thing.2002 Topasblau M3 - Coupe - 6MT - Karbonius CSL Airbox - MSS54HP Conversion - Kassel MAP - SSV1 - HJS - PCS Tune - Beisan - MK60 Swap - ZCP Rack - Nogaros - AutoSolutions - 996 Brembos - Slon - CMP - VinceBar - Koni - Eibach - BlueBus - Journal

If so, this would mean that a regular lead acid charger would work just as well.

Looks like charging a lithium battery with a lithium specific charger is actually important. Not because the charger has a special charging mode for the lithium cells (seems like the internal BMS still manages all of that), but instead because the lead acid chargers have some lead acid specific features that might harm the lithium batteries.2002 Topasblau M3 - Coupe - 6MT - Karbonius CSL Airbox - MSS54HP Conversion - Kassel MAP - SSV1 - HJS - PCS Tune - Beisan - MK60 Swap - ZCP Rack - Nogaros - AutoSolutions - 996 Brembos - Slon - CMP - VinceBar - Koni - Eibach - BlueBus - Journal

I think you have your answer, but I bought the CTEK MTS 5.0 and it is great (purchased March 2020). I bought the lighter adapter separately and i have had zero problems. I sometimes leave it the whole week and sometimes just plug it in as needed. It is compact and the design and functionality are very thoughtful. Got mine on Amazon at a decent price as well.______________________
