Will do. I actually called and asked them about it once but they hadn't done one in awhile so they said they needed to look into it and call me back...but never did. I'll actually call them tomorrow. After my subframe reinforcement next week, that will be the last "major" thing to remedy.

I already asked about subframe. They don’t do welding but recommended a shop across the street. They said they recommend Autobody Specialists, 614-299-5551

I'll post back when I do but I did speak to MWorks Garage down in Cincy and they said around $1700 for rod bearings. This is their message: "It’s roughly $1700 with WPC treated bearings, BE Bearings are in back order until September. That includes all new gaskets, seals, LiquiMoly 10W-60 Race Tech oil, and engine mounts."

Unless Tom Hatem is around that, I'll probably have MWorks do my subframe and rod bearings in one stop to just knock it all out.

That's not too bad. It's a pretty miserable, and boring drive from Cleveland to Cincy... It'd probably end up costing me $200 in gas round trip, lol. Let me know if you ever hear back from Tom Hatem.

I just got a quote today for $3300 from a local shop to do rod bearings. They initially told me they would have to pull the motor. Needless to say that I'm still on the hunt for someone to do the job.

They weren't lying, when they screw up the rod bearings, they'll have to pull the motor and put in a new one @ $3300 labor cost.

Price seems fine for the labor and parts you are getting, just like others have pointed out, you can get different cheaper parts that will save you some $$.

Rogue Engineering in NNJ did the entire job - parts and labor - for $999. I also had them put in new engine mounts, that was about $200 additional.

I've contacted them about subframe reinforcement and they said they're semi-familiar with it/have a guy on staff familiar with e46s. Have you heard of people using them for rod bearings before CrookedCommie ?

I should have elaborated - have a CCA buddy who recently had M Works do a S54 replacement. Not saying they can't do it, just that I wouldn't take my car there. For subframe reinforcement, I'd be concerned that cracks, welds, and sealing the area would not be done correctly. Maybe they've gotten better in the last year or two.

Unfortunately I don't have any good BMW specialty shop recommendations in Cincinnati. I do my own work on an E46M track car and E70 diesel truck. Turn in Concepts is my go-to for anything track related, but they aren't really a BMW specific shop. Dealer gets any recall issues, but they broke a windshield and are a hassle to work with. Elsen's in Loveland did some maintenance work on the E70 in a pinch, and I was very happy with them.
